Our Holiday (aka Christmas Tea) is on the second Saturday of December and is at the Reyes house in Plano. We’ll have a high tea with a fixed menu. You’ll be asked to bring a certain dish or small amount to cover the cost. Plus your appetite because you’ll be FED! And we’ll have activities as follows:
Wrapped Book Grab Bag -- these are exquisitely wrapped NEW books you can buy to use as holiday gifts (or keep for yourself!). Mindy wraps them so beautifully and they are packaged by genre. So you can get a mystery pack or a romance pack or young adult or erotica or well, you get the point. It’s usually two or three books each and they cost a nominal amount. The money raised goes to our DFW Tea fund for future events.
White Elephant Gift Exchange – bring a wrapped (or in a gift bag so no one can see the contents) present, either a re-gift or something less than $15 new and you get to participate in the rowdy, hilarious and NOISY white elephant exchange we do after the tea. The rules are explained at the tea. I never remember them correctly and will be corrected *grin* It has to do with stealing gifts, bribery, etc. It’s fun!
Book Trade – we’ll also have a book trade, so bring your used books and a BAG to take home the new books you’ll accumulate!
The limit is 25 people because that is all the chairs we’ve got!
