September 17th is Kathleen Korbel / Eileen Dreyer. She'll have a new Noctourne out in September, DEADLY REDEMPTION but we can talk about any of her books. Picnic theme...burgers, hot dogs, etc...

Author Dinner and Signing

We'll be having dinner with Carol Cassella on Tuesday, July 15th at the "Hole in the Wall" Tex-Mex restaurant at Royal and Preston in Dallas, followed by Carol's signing OXYGEN at Borders Preston & Royal! If you enjoy a good medical thriller or adore "Grey's Anatomy" this one is for you! RSVP to list or Gwen if you can make dinner. It will be in the upstairs room at 5-5:30pm. The signing is at 7pm.

We're having a Luau on Wednesday, June 18th for our book club dinner with Denise Swanson. Hope you can join us for a "mystery" night!

And Janet Evanovich is coming to town! Plano to be precise! Friday, June 20th at 6pm. Any one game to try this one again?

Plus, MaryJanice Davidson will be signing on Saturday, June 28th. She's signing her latest "Queen of Vampires" book, UNDEAD AND UNWORTHY.

April Events

Storms and signings! What a combination! April includes signings at local book stores as well as Book Club with Susan Wiggs on Wednesday, April 16th.

Tea for April has been canceled as we had a very late tea in March!

Dinner with Linda Francis Lee was a HIT! She is SO delightful and we've invited her (as a native Texan and how better to help celebrate Cinco de Mayo?) to be our May Book Club guest! Gwen is still insisting on renting a margarita machine, so save May 21st on your calendar for some sinfully delicious fajitas and other Tex-Mex treats!

March Events: Book club, Film Club, High Tea and Signings!

Looking forward to March? We'll be having our annual "at home" tea in the beautiful home of Mindy Ewing in Valley Ranch. And you KNOW how she serves a FABULOUS high tea! We'll be celebrating her birthday as well! Donation of $15 to cover expenses. RSVP to list or Mindy.

Our March Book Club guest is Robin D. Owens on March 19th! It will be a Celtic night .... food and drink wise!

Film Club is going on a hiatus as the intrepid leader (Gwen) is off to the Film Festival at SXSW (South by Southwest) and working AFIDallas Film Festival at the end of March. She'll be letting us all know on the list of the films not to miss at the Dallas Festival. If you've never been to a film screening with the artists, this is your chance! It's like a book signing except you actually get to watch the film first then ask questions! And if you'd like to see our Miss Gwen in action, check out the AFI DALLAS Night of the Living Dead 40th Anniversary viewing!

There are also a bunch of signings in March, keep checking the calendar for updates!

February Events

Don't miss the DAKOTA CASSIDY events on the 8th and 9th of February! Join us for dinner at On The Border (15th and Central in Plano) for dinner then off to the booksigning at 7pm. It's sure to be tons of fun and...need I say, excitement?

Then, Saturday Tea at the Veranda Tea Room from 3pm to 5pm. RSVP. It will be a WILD time as Dakota and her pals will be joining us!

February Book Club meets on Wednesday, February 19th in Plano. Our guest is Stephanie Bond. And it's going to be a FONDUE night! So pull out those pots and join us!

BREAKING NEWS

Have dinner at the Cheesecake Factory across from NorthPark on Wednesday, February 13th with LAUREN WILLIG historical author. The dinner will be at 5:30pm, let Sara know if you can make it!

January 2008

A new look to the website -- we've added FILM Club to the mix. It's every Tuesday night around the area. Some weeks it will be fun commercial film, other nights the art house or independent film. We hope to throw in some film nights in a home and even have filmakers drop in by phone or other means to talk "film." Stay tuned! The group for the film club is "REEL DALLAS on Google Groups."

Extra tea -- we'll be having teas on the fourth Saturday as schedules permit. Everyone is welcome, but we may not talk "books." Uh huh, yeah, whatever! It's just an extra fun time out of the house! And when we'll try out new tea rooms / houses. We're still waiting confirmation on Patti's Place in Plano so the one on January 26th may end up in our old stand by -- The Grand Lux Cafe at the Galleria!

January Book Club

Our holiday tea was beautiful! We met at Summer's home in Richardson, Texas and enjoyed a pot luck tea along with our famous (and lively) White Elephant exchange! Pictures are available on our Flickr site.

November Events

Readers in North Texas are in for a treat!! Visits by Clive Cussler, Greg Illes, Marie Cussler and Jodi Thomas. We'll be having special fan times with Jodi Thomas -- lunch at La Madeleine -- and Marie Bostwick -- dinner at the fabulous Cheesecake Factory!
